Meet the people behind LumosAI
Experienced hands at the helm

Andrew Mercer — Founder & CEO, LumosAI
Transforming Experience into Intelligence
Andrew Mercer’s career has been guided by a simple principle: that innovation should serve understanding — helping people, organizations, and systems see themselves more clearly.
His entrepreneurial journey began with One Meaning, a software company he founded in the UK that later expanded to Palo Alto. Immersed in the energy of Silicon Valley, Andrew experienced both the excitement and the strain of building technology at the frontier of meaning and data. When Oracle acquired One Meaning, it offered not only a sense of achievement but also a lesson — that the greatest challenges in technology are rarely technical, but human.
That insight led to Footdown, a company focused on helping leaders understand and manage the real dynamics shaping their organizations. It was here that Andrew began exploring how patterns of behaviour and decision-making could be visualised and improved through technology — a philosophy that continues to underpin his work today.
Andrew later turned his attention to the energy sector, founding and leading 2OC, Blue-NG, and Carbon-12 — ventures that developed innovative approaches to low-carbon power generation, including the London renewable generator and contributions to Google’s zero-carbon data centre in Enfield. These experiences deepened his commitment to systems thinking — connecting energy, data, and purpose in pursuit of sustainable progress.
That commitment now drives LumosAI, where Andrew brings together decades of experience in entrepreneurship, data architecture, and organizational insight. LumosAI is designed to help organizations see how knowledge, culture, and decision-making interconnect — turning complexity into clarity and information into intelligence.
Under Andrew’s leadership, LumosAI is not just another analytics platform. It represents a new way of thinking about intelligence — one that is dynamic, explainable, and deeply human-centered. His work bridges AI, behavioral science, and organizational psychology, with the goal of helping leaders find meaning in complexity and use technology to strengthen, rather than replace, human judgment.
Whether in a boardroom, an innovation hub, or a quiet harbor in Weymouth, Andrew’s focus remains steady: to illuminate the systems that shape progress — and to help people and organizations find coherence, purpose, and connection, one insight at a time.

- At the end of the pilot, participants may have first option to move into a paid contract.

The pilot will typically run for between 4-6 weeks (or specify your timeframe). At the end of the pilot we’ll conduct a review and decide next-steps together.

- Based on feedback, we’ll adjust product scope, roadmap and integrations for general release.
9. How many participants are there in the pilot?
We are limiting the number of pilot participants to ensure high-quality support and close collaboration. At the moment, the initial cohort will be 6 organisations.
10. How do I apply?
- Complete the online Pilot Programme sign-up form;
- Provide a brief description of your organisation, and in the notes section your business challenges, data readiness and goals for the pilot; (although that can be left blank and we will discuss these in an initial meeting)
- Our team will review your submission, confirm eligibility and schedule an onboarding call.
11. Is there any risk or hidden clause I should know about?
- The pilot is provided “as is” and is subject to change since it’s an early programme;
- While we commit to data security and confidentiality, participants should recognise that features may evolve;
- Use of data will be governed by a pilot agreement (non-disclosure / data usage terms) to ensure protection of both parties.
12. What if I want to withdraw from the pilot early?
You may exit the pilot at any time (subject to the pilot agreement). We ask that you provide a short notice and, where possible, help us capture learnings on what led to the decision.
13. Will my data and insights generated during the pilot become yours?
- Your organisation retains ownership of your raw data;
- Any custom insights, dashboards or results produced by LumosAI for you will be accessible by you;
- For our own internal product development purposes, we may anonymise and aggregate learnings (with no attribution) under the pilot agreement.
14. What level of customisation is possible?
- We’ll work together to define the pilot’s scope (data sources, core use-cases, dashboards). While the pilot is standardised, we are open to certain integrations or tweaks to meet your business challenge (subject to resources).
15. Who should I contact for questions?
Please email us at pilot@lumosai.com (or your designated contact) or call 07740 182442. We’ll respond within one business day
